Waxing

 

Waxing is a popular hair removal method that involves applying a warm honey wax to the skin and then quickly removing it, along with the hair. This technique can leave your skin smooth for weeks, as it removes hair from the root. It's essential to choose the right type wax for your skin type and follow proper aftercare to minimize irritation. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro, waxing can be an effective way to achieve long-lasting hair-free skin. We offer warm wax for most of your body hair removal, the one that involves paper strips to help remove the wax. For Brazilian and Hollywood waxes we also offer hot wax, this is the one that sets and attached itself to the hair not the skin. This can be a kinder option for tougher, courser hair.

​Be prepped - Preparing for a waxing session is essential for achieving the best results. Start by exfoliating the area a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs. Make sure the hair is at least a centimeter long for the wax to be effective. On the day of your waxing, avoid lotions or oils to the skin, as this can hinder the wax's grip. Stay hydrated and consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever beforehand if you're concerned about discomfort.

​After waxing - it's important to care for your skin to ensure a smooth and irritation-free experience. Avoid hot baths, saunas, and intense workouts at least 24 hours to prevent irritation. Keep the area moisturized with a gentle lotion, and avoid fragrances or harsh products for a few days. If you experience any redness or bumps, a cold compress can help soothe the skin. If you are new to waxing it can take a while for your hair cycle to even out. You may find you have some hair growth quite quickly after a wax, don't be worried this is totally normal and will start to ease the more times you are waxed.

Hollywood's and Brazilian's are a firm favourite of our clients with hot wax as the preferred removal as it grabs onto all the tiny hairs and doesn't attached to the skin. Our therapist's will make you feel at ease as you go wax to the max, and you will leave feeling smooth and squeaky clean and maybe a slightly bit tender. You must be 18 and over to book in for this treatment, we really don't think your mum needs to watch. A Brazilian wax removes all the hair from front to back, leaving you with a small amount on the pubic bone area, a Hollywood on the other hand removes all of the hair.
